Annual Report

In the state of Iowa, public libraries are required to present an annual report to their local government as mandated by Iowa Code Section 256.51. This report serves as a comprehensive summary of the library's financial activities, usage statistics, programming, and overall operations during the fiscal year. By submitting this report, the library ensures transparency and accountability to its governing body, such as the city council or county board, demonstrating how public funds are utilized to fulfill its mission of serving the community. The annual report also provides data that can inform decision-making, highlight achievements, and justify continued or increased funding to support library services. Compliance with this requirement helps maintain a strong partnership between the library and its local government, reinforcing the value of the library as a vital public resource.

The Fiscal Year 24 Annual Report was presented to Fairfield City Council on December 16, 2024.
