Day of the Dead Storytime
Date & Time: Tuesday, November 1st at 5:00pm
Location: Fairfield Public Library
Join us at FPL Tuesday, November 1st, for a Day of the Dead celebration for all ages.
The Day of the Dead tradition is somewhat similar to Halloween or All Hallows Eve, but in the Mexican tradition, November 1st and 2nd are celebrated as lighthearted, jovial days of remembering one's deceased loved ones.
Starting at 5:00pm, we will have read-aloud stories about the Day of the Dead by local hero Edith Cabrera, arts & crafts, music, refreshments, and more! Come see our new Day of the Dead altar display in the library honoring great Spanish language authors with Pan de Muerto (Bread for the Dead) baked by Melody Garcia.
Participants may bring a photo of a deceased loved one to leave on the altar, flowers, or a favorites food or drink of those who have passed on.
If you need disability-related accommodations in order to participate in this event, please contact the library at 641-472-6551 Ext. 2.
